At 15:00 on April 16, Gong Lijiao, Olympic champion of Chinese track and field athletes and outstanding alumnus of University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2007, was invited to the 801 conference room of Science and Technology Building to hold a symposium with a number of teachers and students of Steel Common Technology Collaborative Innovation Center. The meeting was chaired by He Anrui, director of the Joint Innovation Center of steel common technology.

He Anrui, director of the Center, first of all extended a warm welcome to Gong Lijiao, an alumnus of our school. Then Director He Anrui introduced the establishment process and central positioning of the steel common technology Collaborative Innovation Center, and emphasized the center's talent training strategy for the development and change of the steel industry.

Later, in combination with her own growth experience, Gong Lijiao, an alumna, expressed her wishes for the center and her hopes for the students. She encouraged the students to have lofty ideals, to be brave in the face of difficulties, and to make achievements in scientific research to contribute to the cultivation of their families and countries. When asked about pay and gain, Gong Lijiao said that after getting the Olympic champion to review the previous process does not feel bitter, 11 years of training in exchange for the track and field 7cm breakthrough, there is no secret to success only firm faith, do a good job at the moment, never give up, step by step through the realization of small goals and finally achieve big goals.
