In December 2021, Professor Wang Xuemin from the Marine Engineering Steel Team successfully passed the comprehensive performance evaluation of the "13th Five Year Plan" national key research and development project "Seismic, corrosion-resistant, and fire-resistant steel for building structures". The work has completed four demonstration projects. Among them, seismic and corrosion-resistant fire-resistant steel plates, supporting 10.9 grade fire-resistant and corrosion-resistant bolts, and reduced coating of fire-resistant and corrosion-resistant welding materials were used for the construction of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics ski diving platform referee room, which is the world's first permanent preservation and use. Reduced coating eliminates the need for anti-corrosion intermediate paint, reduces the thickness of refractory coatings by 20%, and reduces environmental load and maintenance costs throughout the entire life cycle.
